IT’S ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL’S DAY!

Thanks to Latin times for providing me with 10 messages to thank the people who day after day make sure the office runs smoothly and perfectly!

1) Happy Administrative Professionals Day! IT’S ALSO EARTH DAY!
Boy, EVERYTHING is happening today! Today marks the 45th anniversary of Earth Day. In 1969 at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco, peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honor the Earth and the concept of peace, to first be celebrated on March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. This day of nature’s equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation written by McConnell and signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. Locally, OCRRA is inviting you to oin their volunteer litter cleanup crew and help beautify our community on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25. Last year, more than 5,500 Onondaga County residents collected over 99,000 pounds of litter during the annual Earth Day Litter Cleanup. Register by Tuesday, April 21 to get in on the action! Help do your part to make our community shine. Click the link below to learn more.

I DON’T MISS THIS AT ALL!
No matter how stressful your job is, it’s not as hard as getting your kid to put on pants, eat a damn waffle, and make it to school on time. A new study of 2.3 million parents found that the most stressful moment of their day is…7:35 A.M. And obviously that doesn’t have anything to do with what’s happening at work…it has everything to do with trying to get your kids dressed, fed, and out of the house on time. Parents also spend an average of 23 minutes a day making breakfast, which comes out to 140 hours a year.

MILEY MAY BE ON TO SOMETHING
If you keep your body nice and groomed, and it STILL hasn’t translated into finding a boyfriend, maybe it’s time to go the exact opposite route. Des Tobin is a professor of cell biology at the University of Bradford in England and he says it might help you attract a guy if you STOP SHAVING your ARMPITS. Quote, “In other mammals, body hair is very important for dispersing odors, such as pheromones, [to] help you attract mates . . . shaving your underarm hair could mean those odors are not dispersed into the air so quickly.” Of course, that’s all well and good scientifically, but he didn’t talk about what could go wrong after someone IS attracted to your pheromones, then spots your hairy armpits.
