THAT’S THE (ENTREPRENEURIAL) SPIRIT!

The women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (or WISE) Symposium takes place today at the Carrier Dome sponsored by the Whitney School of Management at SU. I’ve always admired the entrepreneurial spirit of individuals, let alone women. We were joined this morning by one of today’s speakers, Sandra Gault, founder of True Gault, a high fashion, custom high heel, shoe manufacturer. What a sharp cookie she is. She dreamed up the idea of COMFORTABLE high heel shoes while uncomfortably wearing some at a party. She relied on her tech backround to come up with the idea of laser scanning a woman’s feet, then letting her custom design high heel shoes, the color, material, etc., for a perfect fit.
In fact, whether you’re attending the symposium or not, she will be at Laci’s Tapas Bar tomorrow night from 5 to 7 pm doing a pop-up shop event where you can scan and design your OWN shoes! Click below for details…

I SHOULD HAVE HAD THIS STORY YESTERDAY (4/20)
WILLIE NELSON made it official yesterday . . . he’s getting into the marijuana business.  He’s launching his own brand of legal weed called Willie’s Reserve, and it sounds like it’s going to be quality stuff. He says, quote, “I will make sure it’s good or it won’t be on sale.”  He also promises to “work with the best growers in Colorado and Washington.”  He’s not just doing this to make a buck.  He wants to “lend support” to the legalization movement. At this point, Willie’s Reserve will only be sold in Colorado and the state of Washington, which is where recreational marijuana is legal. In honor of the launch, he released a video of a new song with MERLE HAGGARD called “It’s All Going To Pot”.  It’s the first single from their collaboration album “Django and Jimmie”, which is due out June 2nd.

THIS IS COOL!
After stinking up the studio the other morning with her hard boiled egg diet, Amy wanted to share this cool video we found. I love the “food hacks”…

MMMM….
There are 5,000 state fair food vendors who are KICKING themselves right now, for not coming up with this recipe. A blog called Oh Bite It just unveiled a monstrous, all-American creation:  BACON WRAPPED, deep-fried OREOS.  Here’s how you make them…

1.  Wrap an Oreo with an entire piece of bacon, covering up as much of the cookie as you can.  Hold the bacon in place by putting a toothpick through it, sticking into the cream filling.
2.  Fry it in oil.
3.  Let it cool off a little bit, but eat it warm.
4.  Try not to die from a heart attack.

I might have to try one…

MALARKEY FOR TODAY:

A new survey says a woman will do this five times before she chooses one:

1)   *** take a selfie
2)   Try on an outfit to wear
3)    Try on a bathing suit

***OnePolll reveals that women will take an average of five Selfies before posting the sixth one online.
