A WORKPLACE FAUX PAS

Have you ever accidentally called someone the wrong name? They will usually correct you and all is forgiven, right? We have a new hire in the building named “Megan” who Amy has been calling “Maria” for the last month. Now, I’m not sure if they tell new hires not to ruffle Amy’s feathers or what, but Megan, for one reason or another, never corrected Amy. And every time Amy has sent out an email referencing “Maria”, nobody knows who she’s talking about! I’m not the BEST person at remembering names, but when I heard Amy say, “Good morning, Maria” in the hallway to Megan and she answered back, I thought I was the one screwing up her name. When I mentioned to Amy that she was calling Megan “Maria”, she wouldn’t believe me! We had to bring poor Megan in on the air to iron the whole thing out. It turns out that because Amy has been here so long, that Megan didn’t feel comfortable telling her she was using the wrong name. What a reputation!  Now, if she would just stop cvalling me Todd…

SCAM ALERT!
Have you noticed that the moretechnologically advanced we get, the easier it is for crooks to scam us? A listener writes: “Scam alert! Just received a robocall from “M&T bank” saying I have a hold on my accounts from fraudulent activity. Gives a number to call back. It’s a scam. I called the real M&T bank number (’cause I’m smart and stuff). They told me they are responding nonstop to customers about this fake call. Do not respond! It’s a 877 number. Beware!” I ACTUALLY GOT THE SAME CALL ON MY CELL PHONE YESTERDAY! Scammers!
