Niall Horan surprised fans in Nashville by joining Thomas Rhett onstage for a performance of Ella Langley’s Choosin’ Texas.
During the shared portion of the show, the two singers also performed One Direction’s Steal My Girl, Horan’s solo single Heaven and Rhett’s Die a Happy Man. The song choices brought together material from both artists’ careers while giving the audience an unexpected pop-country collaboration.
The appearance also reflected an established connection between Horan and Rhett. The two have been friends for several years and previously worked together on Old Tricks, a song included on the deluxe edition of Rhett’s album About a Woman.
Horan’s appearance added a surprise element to the Nashville concert and gave fans a rare chance to hear the two artists perform several songs together. Their version of Choosin’ Texas also placed renewed attention on Langley’s track, which has become one of the notable country releases connected to her growing profile.
