Tourette Syndrome Fundraising
It's that time of year again for us. As many of you know for the past 6 years, we have joined the national Tourette Syndrome Association at Disney's marathon weekend to help raise funds for the group and also to spread awareness. Please help us by visiting our website and making a donation. All proceeds go to the TSA which helps folks with TS in so many ways - educational advocacy, legislative advocacy, education for medical providers and so much more. Feel free to share the link with your friends.

We will be hosting a Benefit for Craig on Sunday, December 8th, 2013, at the American Legion Post #787, 5575 Legionnaire Drive, Cicero, NY, 1pm till 6pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children (ages 6-12, at the door), and children 5 and under are free. Craig Hall Sr. was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis (a disease of the lungs). Over the past decade the disease has gotten progressively worse to the point where he is now in need of a double lung transplant. Craig was officially placed on the lung transplant list in September 2013 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. This is the only hospital in the state that does Lung Transplants. Craig is a 49 year old father of 2 children, Marissa and Craig, and the grandfather of Markell. The Hall’s are a great local family with a history of contributions to the community. Craig has been a resident of Syracuse all of his life, where he attended school and worked various jobs. In the time since his diagnosis Craig has been unable to work due to the progression of the disease. The benefit will feature entertainment by The Blacklights, Soul Mine, Bobby Green, U.A.D, and DJ “Showcase”. There will be poetry by Omanii Abdullah, and Kyle Tape –aka- “The Confused Poet”, as well as other local talent. We will be raffling two All-Inclusive Vacation Packages to Cancun. Pre-sale tickets are available for $10 each. At the benefit we will be raffling a host of great prizes, pasta dinner, and bake sale. Your sponsorship is welcome and very necessary. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated by the Hall family. If you, or your business would like to be featured in our “Sponsorship Booklet” please complete the enclosed form and return it by November 30th, 2013. Run for Dennis is a yearly 5K run/walk in Oswego, New York. It is held in March, in memory of Dennis Pacheco, a local man, who passed away on March 17th, 2011 from bladder cancer. The event was created by Dennis’s daughter, Jessica Newson and wife, Jane Pacheco to raise funds for awareness and research for bladder cancer. The recipients of the fundraising are BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network), Strong Memorial Hospital Oncology Center (Rochester, NY – where Dennis was treated), and The Charles and Mary Haney Fund at Oswego Hospital (where Dennis had his chemotherapy treatments. The fund helps oncology patients with related expenses). The first 2 years were a huge success, with over 500 participants each year. This year’s event will be held at 10am, Saturday, March 15th 2014, in Oswego, New York. For more information visit www.runfordennis.com, and their Facebook and twitter pages.
