MAKE WAY FOR CUDDLE MAN!

Today is National Superhero Day! Organizers say this is for the “fictional and real life heros that give it their all so please join us in honoring all those people that risk their lives every day to keep us safe.” What would be your superhero power if you had one? I’m a good cuddler…Amy could be Garden Woman…If I could CHOOSE a super power, I’d go for x-ray vision…Hey, how you doin’? Amy would want to be invisible so she could eavesdrop on everyone. Either way, I’m not sure I could pull off the skin tight uniform and cape, although it might not be so bad if I could wear a mask…

WHAT ABOUT HERBIE THE LOVE BUG???
Vulture.com put together a list of the 29 best car movies.  And they went about as broad as you can with the term “car movie.”  “Fast Five” was chosen to represent the entire “Fast and the Furious” franchise and it came in eighth place . . . right above another PAUL WALKER movie called “Joy Ride”.  The top spot went to ROBERT DE NIRO’s “Taxi Driver”. Here are the Top 10 . . .

1.  “Taxi Driver”.  Their case is that Robert De Niro’s cab is a major part of who his character is, and the movie wouldn’t work without it.

2.  “The Road Warrior”, which was the second movie in the “Mad Max” series.  Mel Gibson drives a sweet Ford Falcon in it.

3.  “Two-Lane Blacktop”.  It came out in 1971, and starred James Taylor and Dennis Wilson from The Beach Boys, who were racing a guy across the country.

4.  “Repo Man”.  Emilio Estevez played a guy who repossessed cars.

5.  “Collateral”, where Tom Cruise plays a hit man, and makes Jamie Foxx take him around Los Angeles in his cab.

6.  “Holy Motors”.  It’s a foreign film that came out in 2012.  (Read about it, here.)

7.  “Duel”.  It was made for TV in 1971, and Steven Spielberg directed it.

8.  “Fast Five”, the fifth “Fast and the Furious” movie.  They chose that one because it’s when the chase scenes got WAY over-the-top.

9.  “Joy Ride”.  It came out in 2001, and starred Paul Walker and Steve Zahn as two guys on a road trip who get involved with a psycho trucker.

10.  “Taste of Cherry” is an Iranian movie that came out in 1997.  It’s about a guy who drives around in his truck looking for someone to bury him after he kills himself.

(Quentin Tarantino’s “Death Proof” came in at #11, Stephen King’s “Christine” was #17, and “Thelma & Louise” hit #18.  Vulture.com has the whole list.)

SEXY VOICE!
Apparently there’s more of a connection than we ever realized between a sexy voice and a sexy look. A new study out of the University in Vienna in Austria had men listen to women’s voices, then rate how attractive they think the women are.  Then another group of men looked at the women’s pictures and also rated their attractiveness. And . . . it turned out men pretty much NAILED which voices were connected to good looking women and which ones weren’t. The researchers’ theory is that maybe “attractive” facial features like narrower jaws and fuller lips translate into voices that sound sexier. They didn’t test whether women could guess a man’s attractiveness based on his voice . . . but other studies in the past have found that women gravitate toward men with deeper voices because those guys are generally bigger and stronger.
